Located on a fully south-facing plateau high above the Morzine valley, Avoriaz ski resort is an instant hit with all those who see it, thanks to the elegant wooden cladding on every residence and chalet.
All winter, a snowy world in the heart of the Portes du Soleil
Fitting perfectly into its natural surroundings, Avoriaz offers a snowy world in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. Instead of cars, the pedestrianised resort has horse-drawn sleds which criss-cross the resort and its skiers, walkers and children sledging.
Avoriaz offers fun for children and adults thanks to its variety of activities: children can learn to ski in the French ski legend Annie Famose's "Village des Enfants", while older visitors can try some freestyle in the Stash, Europe's first ecological snowpark.
In summer, the biggest mountain activity club
AQUARIAZ, a unique water park in France, has been a huge hit with visitors. Its tropical climate and natural plants offer a totally new and unexpected dimension to the mountains in the summer.
By offering once again this year a full range of activities to holidaymakers, Avoriaz bolsters its reputation as the biggest mountain activities club. It's a place that's been car-free since its inception and convinced of the need to be respectful of the environment, welcoming and rewarding for children, a place where the feeling of freedom is what marks your holiday.
Mountain bike enthusiasts including beginners can explore the Portes du Soleil's must-see places with family or with friends. So, welcome to somewhere new...welcome to Avoriaz.
