The Portes du Soleil is a land of skiing which gives its champions everything they need to make it at the highest level. This desire to help young talent is in the ski area's DNA, since one of the people behind its creation was none other than Jean Vuarnet, Winter Olympics gold medallist at Squaw Vallée in 1960.

Since then, generations of champions have been born, and the Portes du Soleil has become a ski area that's renowned for hosting ski competitions and for its top-flight facilities.

Every year, the ski area also hosts a fun Champions' race to celebrate the exceptional sporting achievements of the following athletes:

Yohann TABERLET /Ski Handisport

Selected for the 2014 Sotchi Winter Paralympic Games Yohann won 2 French Championship titles in 2014: Super-G and Super-Combined.

He finished 4th in the Giant and Slalom.

World Cup: 2nd in the Super-Combined at Panorama Mountain (Canada).

Participated in the 2015 World Championships in Panorama, Canada.

Cyprien RICHARD / Giant Slalom

2011 World Cup silver medallist & World Cup team champion 2014: 8th at Solden (Austria),11th at Alta Badia (Italy), 13th at Beaver Creek (USA), 15th at Adelboden (Switzerland).

2015: a mixed season (not selected for the World Championships), but a good end to the winter with 2 victories in the European Cup and 3rd place in the French championships.

2015: Injured at the beginning of the season but still achieved a 4th place finish in the World Cup in Japan.
