[Translate to English:] Randonnée Portes du Soleil
Want to go walking?
From the shores of Lake Geneva to the famous peaks of the Dents du Midi range, the Chablais region is brimming with walking routes and hiking adventures (GR5).
Family holidays in the mountains are an opportunity to recharge your batteries, enjoy splendid scenery and breathe the pure air. It's also a wonderful place to exercise while enjoying the magnificent surroundings.
Walking and trekking with your family or as a high-performance sport is an excellent way to explore the Portes du Soleil, its many summits and gorgeous countryside in the Haute-Savoie, or by Lake Geneva, in the heart of the Alps. The area has 800 km of marked routes and 23 mountain lifts to make it easy to climb the peaks.
To skip long climbs and to make some peaks more accessible, the Portes du Soleil have also developed the Multi Pass offer; it's a card that gives unlimited access to more than 60 activities, including the mountain lifts for walkers... From €2 or CHF2.50 per person, per day of your stay*.
On a walk in the mountains, you can try the Portes du Soleil tour, or plan a family stroll around one of the lakes, or perhaps even climb one of the peaks!
By now you'll probably have understood that the Chablais (Northern Alps) are wonderfully positioned for all kinds of walking; from simple family walks in the mountains, to all-day hikes - there's something for everyone. It's worth remembering that reaching some summits in the Chablais can be a steep affair and may require using your hands!
To make things easier, the Portes du Soleil have created a walkers' map on sale in all tourist offices in the area: Abondance, Avoriaz 1800, Champéry, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morgins, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d'Aulps, Torgon et Val-d'Illiez Les Crosets Champoussin.
