The Portes du Soleil ski area is nothing less than a massive winter playground for powder hounds... Our Natural Powder Reserve offers boundless fun and we encourage you to fill your ski boots, but please be sensible!
The Snowcross zones in Avoriaz offer skiers and snowboarders all the thrills of no-holds-barred exploring on safe but untouched slopes. After a big dump of snow, powder-lovers head for Les Crozats, La Frontalière, Les Brochaux or La Marmotte.
At Champéry, a favourite place for powder chasers is Le Cuboré. From the top of the chairlift, all you have to do is choose your route and if the Swiss Wall is an icon among ski aficionados, the side of the run is always a hit thanks to the virgin powder turns on offer.
High mountain guides offer freeride trips, ski touring, mountaineering, ice climbing, heliskiing.
Is off-trail, downhill skiing that is accessed by a helicopter, as opposed to a ski lift. It is essentially about skiing in a natural, albeit highly-selected environment, without the effort required for hiking into these areas as in ski touring or ski mountaineering.
Forbidden in France, the heli-skiing is practised in Switzerland.
It's a mix of off piste sessions with sometimes small ascents on foot. It is practised on Chesery, Vorlaz, les Mines d'or, le Grand Paradis....

In Les Gets both sides of the village resort offer advanced skiers numerous opportunities to sample the powder: La Rosta (Chavannes side), or for more of a challenge on Mont Chéry, Les Planeys near the Snow Park, or even Chéry Nord.
