The tradition of eating well in the Chablais revolves around using local ingredients that are crafted passionate food-lovers.

After a big day on our magnificent slopes, what could be better than sitting down to a choice of local specialities, each one better than the last! It's tough being spoilt for choice! There are more than 90 restaurants on the slopes at altitude in the Portes du Soleil, from small farm-hostels to fine dining restaurants. They offer a warm welcome and local culinary specialities: from lake-netted fish to local cheeses (with protected AOP or IGP labels), you'll be happy you stopped by!

Chatel village ski resort in the Portes du Soleil even hosts its own international food festival: Les Neiges Etoilées. The festival programme includes: demonstrations and cooking classes, competitions for hotel and restaurant college students, a culinary challenge for locally elected officials, breakfast on the slopes, local food and drink producers fair, evening gala...

All of these activities happen under the watchful eye of France's best-known chefs and prestigious partners.
