  • A sportive hike to reach the top of the Roc de Tavaneuse, this top offer you a magnificent view of the Mont Blanc. On the way down, you can enjoy the most beautiful lake of the Chablais: the lake of Tavaneuse!

  • The Roc de Tavaneuse, reserved for good walkers, is a beautiful summit to discover in the Abondance valley.

    From the Prétairié car park, you will cross a forest to reach the Serranants mountain chalets.

    You will then follow the direction of the Chalets de Tavaneuse to reach the lake.

    The climb is quite steep and not very shady, so it is best to leave in the cooler weather.

    You will reach the superb mountain lake of Tavaneuse and its transparent and turquoise waters.

    The cliffs of the small Pointe du Piron and the Col de Tavaneuse overlook the lake. You will follow the path that leads to the col de Tavaneuse (1997 m), then the ridge path that leads to the summit of the Roc de Tavaneuse.
    A panoramic view of the Chablais mountains and the Mont Blanc massif awaits you.

    The descent is made by the same route to the lake and offers 3 possibilities of variants to reach the starting point.

    Mountain boots are strongly recommended.
  • Parking Prétairié is located 5 minutes from the centre of the village of Abondance, take the direction of Charmy l'Envers. The car park is at the end of the road.
