- Tours begin at 10:30 a.m.
- Activities for youth and children: kamishibai workshops, biblical animal face painting, games, and crafts in the room near the narthex (entrance to the abbey church).

Come enjoy a friendly get-together and chat at the “Chalet” at the top of the Place de l’Abbatiale in Abondance.

Thursday, August 13, at 6:00 p.m. at the Saint-François-de-Sales Chapel, Le Fion (Chevenoz).


PILGRIM VIRGIN

Join the procession accompanying the statue of Our Lady of Abondance as it visits the valley’s chapels.
You may walk the entire route, part of it, or simply join the group at the finish for Mass and a friendly drink.
Children are welcome when accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Bring: sturdy shoes, a picnic lunch, water, a hat, sunscreen, rain gear, and a yellow vest.

Tuesday, August 11
Let us make a pilgrimage with Our Lady of Abondance to Bonnevaux
9:00 a.m. Adoration in the Abbey Church of Abondance.
9:30 a.m. Lauds
10:00 a.m.: Welcome at the Café du Curé.
Lecture: “The Spirit of Tibhirine, with Blessed Brother Paul,” by Marie-Dominique Minassian, theologian at the University of Fribourg and editor of the Tibhirine writings.
11:30 a.m.: Blessing of the walkers in the Abbeyal Church; departure of the prayer walk toward Bonnevaux, Brother Paul’s birthplace. Picnic near the Saint-Joseph Chapel in the hamlet of Melon, in Sous-Le-Pas.
Around 2:00 p.m., departure for Bonnevaux.
3:15 p.m.: Talk in Bonnevaux by a monk from Tamié.
3:45 p.m.: Mass in Bonnevaux, followed by a reception.

Wednesday, August 12
Pilgrimage with the Virgin Mary, from La-Chapelle-d’Abondance to Châtel

9:00 a.m.: Adoration in the church of La-Chapelle-d’Abondance.
9:30 a.m.: Lauds.
10:00 a.m.: Blessing of the pilgrims. Departure toward the Chapel of Our Lady of Compassion. Then a prayerful walk to the Chapel of St. James in La Ville du Nant. Continue to the banks of the Dranse River for a picnic.
Around 2:00 PM, departure toward Châtel, with a stop at the church. Then walk to the Chapel of Notre-Dame des Neiges in Vonnes (Châtel).
6:00 p.m.: Mass, followed by a friendly get-together.

Thursday, August 13
Let us make a pilgrimage with the Virgin Mary, from Chevenoz to Vacheresse, then to Le Fion

9:00 a.m.: Adoration in the church of Chevenoz.
9:30 a.m.: Lauds.
10:00 a.m.: Blessing of the pilgrims. Departure toward the chapel of Taverole, then on toward Jessica’s Grotto in Vacheresse. Picnic.
Around 2:00 p.m., prayer walk toward the Chapel of Le Villard, then along the road to Le Fion (Chevenoz), Chapel of Saint Francis de Sales.
6:00 p.m.: Mass, followed by a reception.

Friday, August 14

3:00 p.m.: Mass at the Vacheresse nursing home.
From 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.: Marian vigil at the Abbeyal Church of Abondance.

Saturday, August 15

10:00 a.m.: Mass at the Abbeyal Church, followed by a solemn procession of the Pilgrim Virgin, behind the banners, toward the Grotto of Lourdes, accompanied by the Abondance Brass Band and followed by a reception.
Parish flea market and bake sale on the Abondance square.
5:00 p.m.: Vespers of the Assumption to close the festival.
