  • This hike crosses the Alpage de l'Essert where Abondance cheese and goat's cheese are made during the summer. A beautiful view of the Mont de Grange and Abondance awaits you along the way.

  • This hike starts in the centre of the village of Abondance. You will take the direction of the Essert cable car then you will discover the hamlet of Fremoux, its traditional houses and its mountain pastures.

    You will be able to admire the whole valley of Abondance from the top of Fremoux.

    You will reach the forest path that leads to the Chalets de l'Essert. A beautiful panorama on the Mont de Grange and Charmy l'Adroit awaits you.

    You will then take the direction of Fremoux Dessous...
    This hike starts in the centre of the village of Abondance. You will take the direction of the Essert cable car then you will discover the hamlet of Fremoux, its traditional houses and its mountain pastures.

    You will be able to admire the whole valley of Abondance from the top of Fremoux.

    You will reach the forest path that leads to the Chalets de l'Essert. A beautiful panorama on the Mont de Grange and Charmy l'Adroit awaits you.

    You will then take the direction of Fremoux Dessous after the restaurant of l'Essert to join the path of departure and return to the centre of the village.

    Variation: the start of this tour can be at the Plan de Charmy in Charmy l'Envers (see GPS track and map) by joining Fremoux Dessous by the Mont Logis.
