Come by ski or bike! … well okay, maybe you’re coming from a little further away and it would be a shame to waste time in transportation instead of enjoying the riches of the area.

The location of the Portes du Soleil area allows you to come in multiple ways. We’ve listed the most popular and direct ways to get to us, so follow the guide!

By Road

In the heart of the Alps, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, the Portes du Soleil domain is ideally located 1 hour from Geneva, easily accessible and close to major European cities.

On the French side, the A40 takes you to the foot of the massif, 30 minutes from the mountain resorts, on the Swiss side you will follow the A9 to Vionnaz or Monthey, 20 minutes from the Valais villages.

Think about carpooling!

Practical, less polluting and friendly, don’t hesitate to consider the carpooling option to get to the domain.

Don’t forget to warn your driver if you come with your bike or bulky ski equipment 😉

All year round, bus shuttles will make your trips easier.

In the mountains, weather conditions can sometimes bring bad surprises on the roads.

For a safe trip, don’t forget to ask about the road conditions and check your safety equipment (snow tires, chains…).

By train

The area is located near major train stations.

Access to the ski resorts is by TGV:
– Thonon-les-Bains and Cluses (in France)

Access to the ski resorts is by TGV Lyria

-Bellegarde, Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux and Aigle.

By plane

The Portes du Soleil area is located 1 hour from Geneva International Airport.

The airport is served by 49 airlines and hosts 388 daily flights.

On getting off the plane shuttles take you to the mountain villages in 1 hour.
