Preparing your outing in the Chablais

These are usually carried out in spring or autumn, and some passes may be closed or difficult to negotiate, particularly on the way down. Dedicated mountain biking trails

Portes du Soleil is Europe’s largest cross-border mountain biking area, with trails for all levels in its 12 resorts and 5 internationally renowned Bike Parks. It offers mountain bike trails for everyone. The Mountain Bike tour covers 80 kilometers. It takes you through villages and corners of nature in the heart of the mountains, passing through Les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz, Champéry, Châtel, Lake Geneva and Montriond.

Mythical pass

The Col de Joux Plane, climbed many times by Tour de France racers, remains one of the most difficult passes in the Alps. The foot of the pass is immediately steep, then the slope is very irregular, with a maximum percentage of 13% at the place known as “La Combe Emeru”.
