This tour takes in the mythical Col des Portes du Soleil, a highly symbolic historical link for our vast area straddling France and Switzerland.
From Les Crosets, take the Mossettes chairlift to the start of the route. From the top of the chairlift, descend towards Portes de l'Hiver (2096m) and follow the path towards Col des Portes du Soleil (1950m). Turn right and descend to Vaillime. At the fork in the road, turn right to follow the path below the Mossettes chairlift line, in the direction of Restaurant Chaux Palin. At the fork in the road, turn right to follow the path below the Mossettes chairlift line, in the direction of Restaurant Chaux Palin. Just before the restaurant, at an altitude of 1844m, below the Grande Conche chairlift, turn right up the path to the summit of Grande Conche. Follow the ridge back to the summit of Les Mossettes.
