the Portes du Soleil ski area is one of the biggest winter playgrounds in the world, with 12 linked resorts on either side of the French-Swiss border :

Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d'Aulps, Champéry, Morgins, Torgon, Val-d'Illiez - Les Crosets-Champoussin. In the heart of the Alps, the ski area Alps is located between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, skiers come for the excellent snowfall - more than 8 metres every year!
The Portes du Soleil offers 650km of skiing and 280 pistes: 26 black, 105 red, 112 blue and 37 green. It also has 201 ski lifts and 9 snowparks..
