Montriond-Avoriaz, a sporting resort at the heart of the Portes du Soleil, has world-renowned ski and MTB slopes, with all the charm of a village.
In winter, at the centre of the action in the Portes du Soleil
It's in Montriond where you'll find one of the longest ski slopes in the Portes du Soleil: l'Abricotine. It runs for nearly 8km from the peaks that mark the border with Switzerland, all the way down to the Ardent cable car. On the way down, you can ski through the famous snow-covered village of Lindarets; it's full of old chalet-restaurants that offer a fine gastronomic stopover on the slopes.
In summer, a charming goat village
Montriond is an ideal holiday venue. With its lake, waterfalls and walking trails, there are many wonderful places to visit.
Montriond Lake has easy walks and water-based activities to do in a peaceful setting.
A little further up the mountain, Lindarets village is a cluster of typical little chalets where the summer's residents are goats that roam free.
What better invitation to make a new discovery with your family!
From Lindarets village, mountain-bikers ride the many MTB trails on offer and use the lifts that link the Portes du Soleil's village-resorts.
For walkers, there are lots of pathways that criss-cross the mountains and lead to idyllic locations, such as the Brochaux waterfall or the Bassachaux col.
