With 12 village-resorts, the Portes du Soleil is the biggest linked area in Europe. Between France and Switzerland, you can visit Abondance, Avoriaz 1800, Champéry, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morgins, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d'Aulps, Torgon and Val-d'Illiez Les Crosets Champoussin.
In the summer, more than 400 km of marked routes are waiting for you. Spread out over 54 routes starting from one of the 23 mountain lifts that are open throughout the summer, allow yourself to explore the heart of the Alps between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc.
Thanks to the Portes du Soleil, it's possible to run and traverse mountains in the heart of the Northern Alps.

Trail running is perhaps best summed up as a sports activity in the great outdoors that's also in a fantastic setting. Our mountains are bursting with surprises, not least the unique wildlife and plants. It's the ideal activity to enjoy everything on offer here, between peaks and meadows, especially in the summer.
We hope you'll agree with us that the Portes du Soleil offers an ideal setting for Trail running fans: with no less than 400km of multi-tracks and marked single-tracks covering 54 routes over the entirety of the area. With climbs ranging from 180 metres to more than 3000 metres, beginners can enjoy the area just as much as more experienced runners.

Trail running routes for all tastes
To satisfy everyone's needs and so that everyone can go Trail running alone, with friends or family, the Portes du Soleil offers tracks that are suitable for all levels and tastes. Just as in skiing, trail running routes are classified by difficulty level. Among the 400km available in the Portes du Soleil, you'll find:
- 17 green trail routes (less than 8km)
- 19 blue trail routes
- 13 red trail routes
- 2 black trail routes (including skyrunning on ridges)
- 4 vertical kilometres
- Plus 8 competition-level routes.
Whether you're training for a new challenge or you're planning on enjoying a great weekend, the tracks in the Portes du Soleil are tailor-made for you.
A dedicated trail running app
The Portes du Soleil area has thought of everything for trail runners.
For a hassle-free session, just download the trail app (available on iOS and Android). The Portes du Soleil Summer app has everything you need to prepare for your session but also to find your way while you're out and about. It guides you using the GPS on your smartphone, so there's no chance of getting lost. What's more, an alert function lets you know when you're leaving the path.
Before you set off and during the run, find some great points of interest along the way; a great opportunity to take in a great view while taking a breather. An emergency function is also available in the app. In the event of a problem, you can contact the emergency services or send a text message to your contacts.
Weather information and the condition of different tracks are also available. It's also possible to share your favourite routes on your social network with friends and family and the trail community in the Portes du Soleil.

The Portes du Soleil have put in place an up-to-date and highly visible system of signposts specifically for trail running. The difficulty level is based on the same system as skiing, from green to black, so everyone can find their run.
