Nordic skiing and biathlon at La Chapelle d’Abondance

A little air of the great north. Located on the edge of the Dranse d’Abondance, the Nordic domain is considered one of the most beautiful in Haute-Savoie. With its 23km of trails located between 1000 and 1500m of altitude, it invites you to immerse yourself in an authentic setting and to slide at your own pace. Private and group lessons allow you to learn or improve on the 2 techniques, alternative and skating.

Biathlon

Biathlon is a fun alternative to classic cross-country skiing. It combines cross-country skiing with rifle shooting (laser or pellet, depending on age), both standing and prone. It is a complete activity that combines endurance, concentration and precision… perfect for challenges with friends or family!

Cross-country skiing

Considered to be one of the most beautiful in Haute-Savoie, the Nordic area of the Abondance Valley stretches along the Dranse River over two resorts: La Chapelle d’Abondance and Châtel. A real life-size playground, it offers more than 25 km of trails and eight Nordic itineraries located between 1,000 and 1,500 m of altitude, including a specially lit loop for cross-country skiers who enjoy night outings. Private and group lessons allow you to learn different techniques (alternating step, skating).

Biathlon, nordic park, orienteering skiing and sledging track are another way to enjoy this space.

The Foyer 4 Saisons, in the immediate vicinity of the Nordic area, is open every day for your comfort with access to the sanitary facilities and something to eat and rest.

Did you know?
The Foyer Nordique is open as a refreshment stand and takeaway snack, every day from 9am to 5pm. It does not have Nordic ski equipment for rent. For equipment rental, you can refer to the resort’s sports stores.
In addition to Nordic skiing, other activities are offered on the Nordic area: biathlon, Nordic Park, orienteering skiing and sledding.
