18b. Foilleuse - Savolaire - Morgins

When exiting the gondola, turn left, walk alongside the gondola building and pass to the left of the beginners’ magic carpet lift and the sledging run, where you will find the first pink snowshoe sign. Follow the sign toward the restaurant Gîte d'alpage La Chaux (the track is visible as the owner regularly drives over it with a snow quad). Head downhill and to the right along a wide path with a view over the Dents du Midi and the Vaud Alps. After the first farm, follow the road downhill to a second farm at the hairpin bend. Leave the La Chaux trail markers here (unless you want to stop for a yummy pick-me-up, in which case you follow the markers that branch off to the right — ) and take a small flat path to the left, before descending through the forest at a left-hand bend. You will reach a flat road, which you follow to the right for about 500 m to reach the Madzé crossroads.

Rather than take the steep trail down to Morgins, follow the signs for Savolaire. The snowshoe track briefly follows a wide path, but after the fence, it heads uphill to the right toward Savolaire (you may also follow the summer trail marked with the yellow Savolaire sign — the paths rejoin). Pass the Buvette de Savolaire (closed in winter), then head straight down across the fields following the signs to Morgins, passing each farm on your right. From Champarin, follow the wide path back down to your starting point..
