  • This hike leads you to the Arvouin lake, a beautiful mountain lake in the Abondance valley. The path that leads to it offers nice views. It is perfect for families. The lake being the objective of the walk!

  • Lac d'Arvouin is easily accessible on foot from the heights of La Chapelle d'Abondance. In summer, the Panthiaz gondola lift also allows you to reach the starting point without taking the car (open on certain days of the week, check with the tourist office).

From Sevan, you'll head up into the mountain pastures, reaching chalets a little higher up. Maybe you'll meet some Abondance cows!

The path then leads into the undergrowth, and the area opens up to offer splendid views. You'll then follow this path to Lac d'Arvouin, where you may spot goats below or ibex at the lake.

Situated in the heart of the protected Cornettes de Bise massif, Lac d'Arvouin and its surroundings are classified as a Natura 2000 area.

If you wish to extend this hike, you can reach the Col d'Arvouin on the right, or the Avalanche Head and Col du Serpentin on the left. A magnificent view of the lake and the south face of the Cornettes de Bise.
