This tour is suitable for hikers in good physical condition. It is also suitable for families. It can be completed in 2, 3 or 4 days from June to October, depending on snow conditions. Its many variants also allow you to extend your stay and climb its highest peak: Haute Cime (3,257 m).
There are several variations on the Tour des Dents du Midi route. However, you will pass by the following remarkable sites:
- The Salanfe dam and lake.
- The Col de Susanfe, the highest point (without the Haute Cime) of the hike at 2,494 metres above sea level.
- The Susanfe valley.
- Col du Jorat.
- Cirque de Chalin.
- Anthème lakes.
- Pas d'Encel (a steep, vertiginous passage equipped with chains).
