ALPINE SKI Racing

There are many ways of competing in alpine skiing. In this episode, we join young skiers in training on a Géant course at the Les Crosets training stadium. The Portes du Soleil has several “ski stadiums”, tracks specially reserved for the ski-clubs of the area’s 12 resorts. These provide young alpine skiing talents with superb training conditions in which to progress in their discipline.

La Relève Robert Clarke, began skiing at the age of 2 alongside his parents and older brother. At the age of 12, he was selected for the training group of the “Ski Valais – Région Dents du Midi” Regional Performance Center. The young talent went on to win numerous medals in Switzerland. An achievement in a country where the competition is fierce, given the abundance of talented skiers. His coach, Fabien Tissot, sees a bright future for him in skiing. His strong point? Enjoying every run, whether out with friends or in competition. It’s rare to ski in Les Crosets without spotting him on a track or on a backflip.
