in Morzine

Amateur cyclists will not be outdone, opening the road to the professionals on July 9 for the Stage of the Tour.

The 31st edition of the Stage of the Tour de France will be held on July 09, 2023 on the route of the 14th stage of the Tour de France, between Annemasse and Morzine, 157 km of road with more than 4,100 meters of cumulative positive elevation gain, including the climbs of the Saxel Pass, Cou Pass, Fire Pass, Ramaz Pass and Joux Plane Pass.

Since1975, Morzine has hosted the Tour de France no less than 35 times, for 16 stage arrivals and 19 departures. In 2023, the Portes du Soleil resort will once again be in the global spotlight. It will be the finish city for the fourteenth stage of the 2023 Tour, (Annemasse – Morzine Portes du Soleil, 152 km).

Châtel, a history of bicycles

Between Switzerland and the Valley of Abondance, in 2022 the resort of Châtel was the arrival city of the Tour de France after an incredible 9th stage animated by the French T. Pinot at the start of Aigle (Switzerland).

The resort has already been close to the Tour de France! In 1975, Châtel was a stage town for the Morzine-Châtel time trial.
In 1988, the Tour de France also passed through Châtel, during the 11th stage Besançon – Morzine.

Les Gets will be the starting town for the 2023 Tour de France for the first time in its history. “All in the saddle” on Sunday, July 16, to follow the 15th stage, which is scheduled to finish in Saint Gervais Mont Blanc.

I knew that if I arrived at the top of the Pas de Morgins with a bit of a lead, the rest was pretty much in my favor. I took all the risks, it worked out, and I’m very grateful.”
