  • Follow the tracks of cross-country skiers towards the Col de Cou. Explore magnificent landscapes between fir trees and mountain peaks.

  • To reach the starting point of the walk from Avoriaz, take the Prodains Express cable car, then shuttle A to the Rond-Point de la Mouille au Clair, and finally shuttle E to l’Érigné.

    1. Start from l’Érigné (Vallée de la Manche) at the end of the cleared road.
    2. Take the cross-country ski trail that goes up over the bridge to Charny.
    3. Turn left towards the Lac des Mines d'Or.
    4. From the Mines d'Or refuge (closed in winter), follow the cross-country ski tracks towards the Col de Cou....
    To reach the starting point of the walk from Avoriaz, take the Prodains Express cable car, then shuttle A to the Rond-Point de la Mouille au Clair, and finally shuttle E to l’Érigné.

    1. Start from l’Érigné (Vallée de la Manche) at the end of the cleared road.
    2. Take the cross-country ski trail that goes up over the bridge to Charny.
    3. Turn left towards the Lac des Mines d'Or.
    4. From the Mines d'Or refuge (closed in winter), follow the cross-country ski tracks towards the Col de Cou. The trail is safe and passable up to the Fréterolles chalet.
    5. You can continue on to the Col de Cou.
    The variant leading to the Col de Cou takes you into the wild, untouched mountain area.

    Before venturing there, check the weather and avalanche risk with local mountain professionals. Make sure you are well-prepared and don't forget to bring water and food.

    To take the Prodains Express cable car, purchase a pedestrian pass directly at the cable car ticket office.

    This walk may require extra effort depending on snow conditions.
