Les Gets
The resort of Les Gets, in the French Alps, has a typical mountain climate, with cold winters and mild summers. However, what makes Les Gets so special in terms of climate is its geographical location.
Les Gets is situated in a transition zone between the northern and southern Alps, which creates a particularly diverse climate. The Northern Alps tend to be colder and wetter, while the Southern Alps are drier and sunnier.
Because of this unique geographical location, Les Gets enjoys abundant snow cover in winter, with temperatures that can drop below -10°C. In summer, temperatures are mild, with highs of around 25°C, but can also be cooler due to the altitude.
Les Gets is also known for its rapid and frequent weather changes. Due to the mountainous topography of the area, clouds can form quickly and the weather can change rapidly, creating variable skiing conditions but also spectacular scenery.
